L'BANDIT ART (2006)

A scene from Jean-Luc Godard's 1964 Bande à part--in which a language class plays host to a screwball, sexually-charged chase scene in stifled motion--is imbued with new (non)meaning through the deployment of the poetic device of transliteratively translated subtitles. The sonic capacity of language overtakes more traditional forms of meaning-making. Unwitting sketch for three-channel video installation JLG//JPL (jm) (2007).
